Pool Equipment Installation & Repair

Pool Pumps

Pool Filters

Pool Pumps

The pump is one of the most critical pieces of pool equipment. It circulates water through the pool’s filtration system, ensuring that the water stays clean and balanced.

  • Types:

    • Single-Speed Pumps: These are the traditional style, operating at one fixed speed.

    • Two-Speed Pumps: Offers a lower-speed option for more energy-efficient operation.

    • Variable-Speed Pumps: Most energy-efficient. They can be set to different speeds depending on the task, like filtration, heating, or cleaning.

Filters are responsible for keeping debris and particles out of your pool water. There are three common types of pool filters:

  • Sand Filters: These use sand to trap dirt and debris. They’re the most common and easiest to maintain.

  • Cartridge Filters: These use fabric-like materials to filter water. They require periodic cleaning but are more energy-efficient than sand filters.

  • DE (Diatomaceous Earth) Filters: These offer the finest filtration, but they are more expensive and require more maintenance.

Pool Heaters

A pool heater extends your swimming season by keeping the water at a comfortable temperature.

  • Types:

    • Gas Heaters: Powered by natural gas or propane, these provide fast heating but can be expensive to run.

    • Electric Heat Pumps: More energy-efficient, but they take longer to heat the water.

    • Solar Heaters: Use the sun’s energy to heat your pool, making them eco-friendly and cost-effective in sunny regions.

    • Solar Blankets: Though not technically a heater, solar blankets help to trap heat in the pool water and can reduce heating costs.

Automatic Pool Cleaners

pool salt cell

A pool salt cell (often called a salt chlorinator cell or electrolytic cell) is a key part of a saltwater pool system.
It works by using electrolysis to convert the dissolved salt in your pool water into chlorine, which then sanitizes the water.

Salt cells are usually brand-specific and designed to match certain control units.

  • Hayward / Goldline AquaRite Cells (e.g., T-Cell-15)

  • Pentair IntelliChlor Cells (e.g., IC40, IC60)

  • Jandy AquaPure Cells

  • Generic Aftermarket Replacements (cheaper, but vary in quality and lifespan)

Pool Lights

Pool lighting adds ambiance, safety, and functionality to your pool, especially for nighttime swimming.

  • Types:

    • LED Lights: Energy-efficient and long-lasting, with options for different colors and brightness.

    • Halogen Lights: Provide bright, white light but are less energy-efficient than LEDs.

    • Fiber Optic Lights: Provide a unique aesthetic, often used for decorative effects.

As mentioned in a previous message, automatic cleaners can save you time by keeping your pool clean without manual intervention.

  • Types:

    • Suction-Side Cleaners: These are powered by the pool’s pump and filter.

    • Pressure-Side Cleaners: They use the pool’s return lines to operate and usually require a separate booster pump.

    • Robotic Cleaners: Independent units that require no connection to the pool’s filtration system.

Pool Automation Systems

Pool Automation Systems

Pool Automation Systems

These systems allow you to control multiple pool features (like pumps, heaters, lights, and cleaners) from your smartphone or a control panel.

  • Components:

    • Smartphone Control: Apps allow you to monitor and control your pool’s settings remotely.

    • Automation for Pumps and Heaters: Set schedules for when your pool heater or pump turns on/off.

    • Water Chemistry Sensors: Some advanced systems monitor and adjust chemical levels for you.
